Marketing and Practice Manager 

Primary roles are to:

  • Develop marketing and business development initiatives with the Partnership, then oversee and assist with implementation.
  • Assist with the development of and implementation of practice management protocols, including relating receivables, and to assist with collection efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Marketing & Business Development

  • Co-ordinate with firm management to develop marketing strategy and budget for each year.
  • Review marketing expense requests and compliance with budget and expense policies.
  • Arrange conferences attendances for attorneys.
  • Attend occasional conferences to assist in promotion of firm and expertise.
  • Coordinate targeted sponsorships, speaking events to promote firm.
  • Maintain firm Linked In account and other media presence.
  • Liaise with professional listing directories such as Chambers to ensure firm and individual attorneys are properly represented.
  • Act as point person for professional network memberships and co-ordinate with attorneys to fulfill network responsibilities.
  • Meet monthly with individual attorneys to develop personal marketing strategies and monitor implementation and marketing performance of individual attorneys, reporting to Management.
  • Liaise with individual attorneys to supervise the drafting and publishing of regular articles on legal topics

Practice Management

  • Liaising with attorneys, accounts and administrative support to ensure new matters are set up properly in firm’s accounting and document management software, that letters of engagement are in place and in correct form, appropriate retainers requested, and any other due diligence or AML/KYC complied with.
  • Liaise with Firm’s Professional Indemnity Insurers and attorneys to ensure that policies maintained and reporting requirements for risk events are complied with.
  • Work with Partnership to develop firm Receivable Collection Policy.
  • Meet with individual attorneys monthly to monitor receivables and ensure that receivables are chased on a monthly basis in accordance with Receivable Collection Policy, and that ongoing matters are properly secured with retainer payments.
  • Issue correspondence to non-paying clients in accordance with firm Receivables Collection Policy and supervise and co-ordinate further collections efforts.
  • Monitor general enquirers email address and allocate new enquirers to appropriate attorney.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required:

a. 10 years working in a marketing role in the professional services sector.

b. Candidate must be proactive and client facing.

c. College Degree.

  • Preferred:

a. Formal communications experience.

b. Experience with receivables management.
