Wilfred is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation department and works directly under Senior Partner and head of litigation Brian Simms QC. His practice covers insolvency and restructuring, trust disputes, commercial litigation, personal injury, contractual disputes and fraud cases.
Wilfred has appeared as junior counsel in both the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of the Bahamas.
Examples of recent work
- Ebbvale Limited –Successfully appearing as Junior Counsel before the Supreme Court on a contentious liquidation matter involving the sale of a million-dollar asset outside the jurisdiction.
- AWH v ZCM asset Holding Company Limited – Assisted Senior Attorneys with conducting research on an insolvency matter before the Privy Council concerning the right of a liquidator to serve proceedings out of the jurisdiction in relation to a fraudulent preference.
- Volpi v Delanson Services Ltd and another – Assisted Senior Attorneys with research on contentious trust dispute involving the jurisdictional limits of the Supreme Court to assist in trust-related arbitrations.
- Bahamas Bar Council v Shavon Bethel – Appeared as Junior Counsel before the Court of Appeal in a fraud matter involving admission to the Bar of England and Wales and the Bahamas Bar by an applicant based on false pretenses.
